ROMY LOUGHMAN- SCENIC PAINTER

I undertook a two week work placement at Aardman Animations Ltd working in the art department.

I made 60 haystacks out of styrofoam blocks, shaped using carving tools.

I applied an undercoat of Rosco yellow ochre and raw umber paint.

Next I cut up some hay and applied it to each block using P.V.A glue. 

 

In addition I also made 28 wrapped hay barrels. Using polystyrene I carved out each barrel and sprayed them in 3M Spray Mount. Then after gluing some hay to the tops of the barrels I wrapped them tightly in a black bin bags.
