ROMY LOUGHMAN- SCENIC PAINTER
ABOUT
I am a freelance scenic painter who undertook a two year scenic art apprenticeship at the Royal Opera House.
Since starting my apprenticeship in 2016 I have been given the opportunity to work on large and small scale sets alongside senior painters. I have worked on built scenery, cloths on the paint frame and on the studio floor. I have been trained in a wide range of materials and techniques such as marbling, wood graining, troupe l’oeil, texturing, spray painting, poly carving, sign-writing, figurative and landscape painting.
In addition to my training I have attended courses at RADA, RCSSD, Royal Academy of Arts and Central Saint Martins to expand on my knowledge and skill set.
I have worked at Pinewood Studios, Helsingin Kaupunginteatteri, Warner Bros. Pictures, The National Theatre, Richard Nutbourne Scenic Studio, Aardman Animations, Clockwork Scenery, MDM Props, Helix 3D LTD and Glastonbury Music Festival.
I have also completed a level 3 first aid training course and have certificates in both working at height and in the use of MEWPs.
