LYT Productions Tide Mills Project

I designed and painted alongside Rachel Cunningham a theatrical representation of the rooms in the Station Masters Cottage at Tide Mills, a derelict village in East Sussex, England. The set was constructed for the Tide Mills Project Celebration Week organised by LYT Productions, who invited local artist to design and build their own installations for the event.

We ran a two day set painting workshop with the N.I.P.P.E.R.S community group who are based in Newhaven. Workshops involved a talk on the history of Tide Mills project, the Station Cottage installation and the role of a set painter. Children assisted in the texturing and painting of the stone floor of the cottage.

When the set floors were all completed we then gathered together a series of props and furniture to bring together the visual imagining of what the Station Masters Cottage was like.

Work involved; designing, budgeting, planning and heading workshops, prepping, priming, painting, glazing and prop gathering.
